Whether at fairs, conferences, or corporate events – there are many opportunities for organising events. With a national campaign, Luxembourg's event sector aims to raise its profile.
The Luxembourg Event Association (LEA) emerged from the Covid-19 pandemic. The association was founded in 2020 as an interest group representing companies that had been brought to a standstill during the crisis. While the event sector managed to recover relatively quickly from the pandemic, Covid-19 was not the final challenge. The current uncertain economic situation means that businesses and private individuals have had to tighten their budgets. Savings are being made – including on events.
Nevertheless, the LEA does not want to fall into doomerism. Its members are trying to adapt to the new situation. To that end, the association – together with the Luxembourg Confederation and the Ministry of the Economy – is launching a national campaign under the slogan "Events, the beating heart of your strategy." The goal is to convince people that events remain an important marketing tool, especially in the current climate.
Additionally, the campaign aims to shine a spotlight on Luxembourgish expertise in the sector, as the Grand Duchy is home to numerous companies specialising in conceptualising, preparing, and conducting events.
The LEA brings together 85 companies – including agencies, caterers, event locations, technicians, and artisans – which together employ around 1,500 people. In 2024, more than 9,000 professional events were organised in Luxembourg, attracting 935,000 participants.
