Katalin Ligeti is set to resign as Dean of the Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance (FDEF) at the University of Luxembourg, effective 31 May 2026.

Ligeti announced her decision in an email to the faculty on Tuesday. In recent months, pressure had been mounting on her amid various allegations, including the mishandling of conflicts of interest during the recruitment of new academic staff. She was also accused of attempting to influence student representatives during the most recent elections for the Board of Governors.

Speaking to RTL, Ligeti denied the allegations. In her resignation email, she did not explain the reasons for her decision but instead highlighted her achievements during her time as dean.
