
Following the fatal accident at the hill climb race in Eschdorf, an investigation is under way. The car involved has been seized.
A 48-year-old woman lost her life in an accident during the European Hillrace in Eschdorf on Sunday. On Saturday, the family of the deceased will hold a memorial ceremony at 4pm at the bend where the accident happened. The road will also be closed during that time.
As the public prosecutor's office confirmed to RTL, a judicial investigation has been opened on suspicion of "involuntary manslaughter". As part of this investigation, it will be determined whether, and to what extent, any individuals may have been at fault.
The car involved was seized by order of the public prosecutor's office. All further details currently remain subject to the secrecy of the investigation.
When asked whether video footage of the accident exists, RTL received no answer.
