The document in question, which RTL published on Friday, enlists a series of potential measures to improve the city's response to drug-related crimes and incidents. One proposal envisions a decentralisation of the drug addiction centre Abrigado, another one proposes to expand the Housing-First project.

Councilman Bauer commented on these ideas: "After reading the document, I was rather disappointed. Much is said about a lack of effort from the city council, which is simply not true." Bauer further emphasised that the document ignored the series of measures already in place.

The politician also lamented that the document was released only two days prior to a meeting between Luxembourg City mayor Lydie Polfer and Minister of Health Paulette Lenert: "We already decided to reorganise Abrigado and establish a special infrastructure for women." Two points that are being criticised in the published note.

Nevertheless, councilman Bauer also underlined that the work relationship between the capital and the different ministries was productive and that the council is not shying away from its responsibilities.
