The Japanese Embassy in Luxembourg has announced that the Government of Japan is offering scholarships for Luxembourgish nationals who wish to pursue their studies in Japan starting in 2026.

The Japanese government, through its Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT), has announced that applications are now open for its 2026 university and postgraduate scholarship programs. These scholarships are available to Luxembourgish nationals who wish to pursue studies in Japan.

The application deadline is Friday, 6 June 2025. Applicants are required to attend a written examination and interview, which will take place in person at the Embassy of Japan in Luxembourg on one or two days between 23 June and 15 July 2025. Participation in both the exam and interview is mandatory.

The scholarship program covers both undergraduate and postgraduate studies, with guidelines and application forms available online.

In search of manga artists


The Embassy of Japan has also announced that entries are now being accepted for the 19th Japan International Manga Award, with the submission deadline set for 30 June 2025.

Organised by the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the contest aims to foster international exchange and promote mutual understanding through the global appeal of manga culture.

Outstanding entries will be recognised with various awards, and top winners will be invited on a fully funded trip to Japan.
