Water managementGroundwater reserves filled up 30% less than in previous years

RTL Today
In an answer to a parliamentary question by the DP, Ministers Welfring and Bofferding announced that between October 2022 and March 2023, Luxembourg's groundwater reserves were filled by 30% less than in previous years.

The weather last year was not adequate to fill the groundwater reserves. Not only did we experience a dry summer, which meant that there was a deficit at the beginning of autumn, but it also did not rain enough in February.

The situation is carefully monitored by water tracking, the ministers add. In case of a risk of shortage, there are intervention procedures to guarantee drinking water.
