On Friday, the first people will receive their vaccinations at medical practices, according to Dr Guillaume Steichen, the general secretary of the Association of Doctors and Dentists (AMMD). The required vaccines had to be ordered first and will be delivered on Thursday.
At the joint practice in Esch-sur-Alzette alone, over 80 people reached out during a pilot phase this week. Around 150 GPs have so far volunteered to offer vaccinations at their practices. An additional 80 medical practices will start offering the service next week.
After a consultation with their doctor, patients will be able to choose the vaccine they want to receive.
