A7 roadworksFire alarm test to take place in Gousselerbierg tunnel on Monday

RTL Today
In the context of ongoing constructions works in the Gousselerbierg tunnels on the A7 motorway, the roads and bridges authority will test the new fire alarm system.

Whilst construction works continue in the Gousselerbierg tunnels, the next stage will be to test the new fire detection cable, which will be able to detect possible fire outbreaks.

The test will take place in the northbound tunnel towards Mersch on Monday 26 August after 2pm. Consequently, the roads and bridges authority has highlighted that the exercise may emit heavy smoke from the tunnel and motorists should not be alarmed.

The authorities have taken all necessary security measures to ensure the test does not affect traffic.
