
Although Dr Schmit is a strong advocate for a decentralised medical institution, he believes that the proposed infrastructure in Junglinster lacks an adequate concept. He explained that the people behind the project do not possess the necessary expertise to identify the needs of the sector.
Dr Schmit further criticised the administrative boards of the hospitals involved in the undertaking, given that many of their respective posts are not filled by medical personnel. He emphasised that the Junglinster project was launched without the consultation of doctors, who, after all, know best what patients need.
The AMMD president now hopes that doctors will have a say in the new law regarding the medical institution.
