Supermarket chain Delhaize issued a product recall on Wednesday following the discovery of a significant labelling error.

The recall concerns a product sold under the name “Creamy celeriac and truffle soup.” The packaging incorrectly states the contents. The cans actually contain lobster soup. Because of this error, the packaging does not carry the mandatory allergen warning for shellfish.

Delhaize strongly advises any customers with a shellfish allergy who have purchased this product not to consume it. Instead, they should return it to their nearest Delhaize store for a full refund.

While the mislabelling means non-allergic customers received a different product than intended, the lobster soup is safe for them to consume.
