CSCPS President Silvana Antunes-Xavier told our colleagues at RTL.lu that privatisation should be avoided.
Antunes-Xavier thinks that there is a risk of “external capital from third parties entering the health sector” and a shift in focus to earning profits, which would be detrimental to patients.
According to the CSCPS, hospitals should “manage, set up, and support” all outpatient facilities, at least in “sensitive areas.”. Diagnoses made with heavy equipment or surgeries, in particular, should be handled by “one of the four hospital groups”.
For the Council, it is also critical that staff in outpatient settings be classified as “employees” and receive proper compensation.
The CSCPS represents 24 health professions.
