
The National Roads Administration has announced that the second motorway tunnel maintenance and cleaning campaign of the year will begin on 1 September 2026, starting with the tunnels at Colmar-Berg and Schieren.
The works will include preventive maintenance of safety equipment, the replacement of defective components, equipment inspections, and general cleaning.
To minimise disruption to traffic, most of the work will once again be carried out at night.
The campaign will cover the Grouft, Rëngelbour, Stafelter, Gousselerbierg, Mersch, Rouscht, Colmar-Berg, Schieren, Howald, Cents, Richard Serra, Kirchberg, Saint-Esprit, Pénétrante-Sud, Merl, Pétange-Kirch, Biff, Esch-Belval secondary access, Micheville, Aessen, Ehlerange, Foetz, Frisange, Mondorf-les-Bains, and Markusbierg tunnels and wildlife crossings.
