Contrary to what Minister of Health Paulette Lenert told RTL in an interview on Friday, there seems to be no agreement about who will take over management of the new MRI in Potaschberg.
The press statement notes the following: "The Medical Centre Potaschberg clarifies that officials did not sign an agreement with the Centre Hospitalier de Luxembourg on 13 May this year. At this point, we cannot provide any further insight into the ongoing negotiations due to a discretion agreement."
The statement released by the Medical Centre Potaschberg thereby contradicts what Minister of Health Paulette Lenert told RTL in an interview on Friday. She explained that both medical institutions agreed to hand over management of the MRI to the Centre Hospitalier de Luxembourg, which has now been put into question again.
AMMD reacts
Luxembourg's Association of Doctors and Dentists (AMMD) has in the meantime also released a statement regarding the new MRI, confirming that no final agreement has been reached.
The Association directs firm criticism at Minister Lenert, accusing her of enforcing negotiations between the Medical Centre Potaschberg and CHL, and further practising intimidation techniques. The statement elaborates that the new hospital laws will also fail to bring about a solution and continue binding specialists to hospitals.
However, patients need a medical care offer outside of hospitals. AMMD officials believe that this subject was completely ignored during the last health round-table discussion.
