In early April, CSV councillor Théo Blasen declared he would continue as an independent, citing disagreements. This robbed the CSV of its majority. Now the situation has finally been resolved.
According to RTL information, Georges Keipes from the citizen’s list will be joining them as alderman. This proposition will be submitted to the municipal council by the end of the month, then passed to the Ministry for the Interior.
This was confirmed by the CSV mayor Emile Eicher, who clarified that Georges Keipes will be replacing the current alderman Romain Braquet, who for his part had taken over from Georges Michels when he died unexpectedly in October.
After Théo Blasen’s departure from the CSV group, the negotiations to find a new partner for the majority had taken their time.
The opposition is now composed of déi Gréng and DP, with two councillors each.
