A routine Saturday for Luxembourg's emergency services took an unexpected turn in Redange sur Attert, where CGDIS teams were called out to haul a stranded pony from a ditch.

A pony trapped in a ditch in Redange sur Attert was rescued by the Grand Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps (CGDIS) on Saturday, after it was reported unable to get out by itself. CGDIS said it called in its specialised Animal Rescue Group (GSAN) to assist, and the team successfully brought the animal to safety.

The pony was not injured during the rescue and was able to walk back to its stable on its own, a spokesperson added.
