SchifflangeBettembourg-Esch trains disrupted after person hit by train

Trains on route 60 between Esch-sur-Alzette and Bettembourg were held at a standstill after a person was struck by a train near Schifflange on Thursday afternoon.

The emergency services staged an intervention at Schifflange rail station after a man lost his balance and fell from the platform shortly before 5pm on Thursday. He was taken directly to hospital for treatment after suffering serious injuries.

An investigation will be launched into the incident to explain the circumstances of the man’s fall.

A rail replacement bus service was organised by CFL for affected passengers. Train services have since resumed, but may be subjected to delays.
