2021 was still dominated by news and measures related to the pandemic, which is why ACEL focused on improving socioeconomic conditions throughout the year. They thus managed to get students a vaccination priority status to allow them to return to their institutions as quickly as possible. With support from the Ministry of Higher Education and Research and the Ministry of Health, they further received vouchers for free PCR tests if required for travel.
During the general assembly, ACEL members also voted for a new managing board, with Polina Bashlay as president, and Cédric Heintz, Mathis Michels, and Yannick Bertrand as vice presidents. Another important decision was the location of next year’s European Reunion of Luxembourgish Students, which is set to be held in Karlsruhe and Heidelberg, Germany.
