
At 5pm on Wednesday, two people attempted to steal items from an electronics store in the Gare district of Luxembourg City. They were caught by security staff and the police were alerted. Officers at the scene seized a bag of stolen items from the pair, which also contained suspected stolen goods from a sports shop. Both shoplifters were arrested, with one taken to Schrassig prison to await a hearing with magistrates on Thursday. The other, a minor, was transported to the facility in Dreiborn.
In Limpertsberg, police were alerted to a robbery at around midnight after two people were spotted breaking into a garage on Avenue de la Faïencerie. After a brief search, officers caught up with the suspects at the Robert Schuman roundabout, where they discovered the pair with stolen car parts and tools used to facilitate the break-in. Both suspects were arrested and brought before magistrates on Thursday.
The police also reported two drink drivers on Wednesday evening, in Schifflange and Sanem. Both motorists had their licences withdrawn and were issued with driving bans.
