On the evening of 1 August 2025, police received multiple reports around 9pm concerning an individual causing a disturbance by shouting in Ettelbruck.
Shortly afterward, authorities were alerted to a brawl at a bar on Grand-Rue, where one person was left bleeding and the aggressor fled the scene. Upon arrival, officers determined that the suspect matched the description of the individual reported earlier for disruptive behaviour.
Police later located the person on Rue Prince Henri, where they continued to act aggressively and refused to cooperate. Officers ultimately restrained and transported the individual to the police station. During a search, they discovered a switchblade in the suspect’s possession.
Even at the station, the individual remained agitated – lashing out and vomiting repeatedly. Preliminary reports indicate that the altercation began when the suspect smashed a beer glass on another patron’s head. Witnesses attempted to intervene, using chairs to separate the two before the aggressor fled toward Ettelbruck railway station.
Following orders from the public prosecutor’s office, the suspect was detained on charges of bodily harm and illegal weapon possession. The knife was confiscated as evidence.
