The emergency services responded to a spate of incidents across Luxembourg from Thursday into Friday.

The Grand Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps (CGDIS) experienced a high volume of emergency calls between Thursday and Friday, responding to a series of incidents that included five traffic accidents and one fire.

The series of events began on Thursday afternoon. At around 5.30pm, emergency services from Luxembourg City were despatched to the A1 motorway towards the capital following a collision between a car and a bus, which resulted in one injury.

Shortly after 6.20pm, a pedestrian was injured after being struck by a vehicle on Route Principale in Mertzig. The incident was attended to by paramedics from Redange and the Mertzig fire brigade.

Around half an hour later, a car overturned on the N8 between Gaichel and Kreuzerbuch, prompting a response from paramedics in Mamer and the Hobscheid fire brigade. Officials reported only material damage in this case.

Later that evening, at approximately 10.10pm, a fire broke out in an unoccupied house on Route de Luxembourg in Bereldange, leaving one person injured. Paramedics from Luxembourg City and the Steinsel fire brigade attended the scene.

Almost simultaneously, a car crashed into a guardrail on the A7 towards Friedhof, requiring assistance from paramedics in Findel and fire brigades from Niederanven and Junglinster for one injured person.

At around 1.57am, a car veered into a ditch on the N13 from Ehlange towards Reckange-sur-Mess, also resulting in one injury. Emergency services from Esch-sur-Alzette and Mondercange responded to that call.
