Stacey Feinberg's debut interview as US Ambassador touches on her admiration for Luxembourg, her comparison of PM Luc Frieden to Donald Trump, and her views on security and the legacy of Charlie Kirk.
Just a couple of weeks into her new role as US Ambassador, Stacey Feinberg calls Luxembourg "the jewel of Europe" and says she fought to be posted here – but that is only the beginning of what she reveals in her first in-depth interview since arriving in the Grand Duchy.
In Friday night's broadcast, Feinberg opens up about her meetings with Prime Minister Luc Frieden, drawing striking parallels between his leadership style and that of President Donald Trump, whom she describes as a longtime acquaintance and respected figure.
The conversation also turns to security. Asked whether Luxembourgers could count on full US military support in the event of Russian aggression, Feinberg frames Trump as "the peace president" while carefully navigating how far she can go on concrete commitments.
And in one of the interview's more emotional moments, Feinberg speaks about the late Charlie Kirk, describing him as a close friend, a "martyr", and a driving force behind her political engagement – and hinting that his influence may even have played a role in her appointment.
All this and much more – from China to entrepreneurship to her life as a mother of four – in an interview that offers the clearest look yet at America's new top diplomat in Luxembourg.
The full interview drops at 8pm on Friday on RTL Today.
