From children and Scouts to the Grand Duke himself, everyone is planting trees right now.
The challenge is simple: plant a tree, take a photo or a video, share it online and nominate another person or organisation to do the same.
Over the last few days, local authorities, associations and institutions have jumped at the chance to plant a tree as part of the trend. Both young and old have participated, as well as Grand Duke Guillaume and his father, who planted trees in Fischbach Castle on Wednesday.
The viral clips have encouraged many to take part, spreading joy and engagement, with the online aspect of the challenge making it simple to share a nice group photo or funny video.
More trees, cleaner air
A single tree can sequester tonnes of CO₂ over several decades, as well as providing a safe living environment for birds and insects, and stabilises the ground quality.
The more people take part, the bigger the impact. The campaign seeks to spread awareness of the benefits from planting trees, such as cooling the air, offering shade and reducing extreme heat conditions in summertime.
The simplicity of the #BamChallenge shows how easy it is to do something good for the environment.
