A man in Esch-sur-Alzette faces judicial proceedings after two run-ins with the police on the same day, first for allegedly threatening his family and then for violating the subsequent restraining order.
Early Tuesday morning, police in Esch-sur-Alzette responded to a report of a man who had allegedly threatened his wife and son in their flat.
According to the police report, the man had made death threats. Officers were despatched to the scene and located the suspect at the flat. Following the direction of the public prosecutor's office, a restraining order was issued against him.
Later that afternoon, however, police were informed that the man had returned to the apartment block in violation of the order. A patrol located and arrested him on the orders of the public prosecutor's office. He was scheduled to appear before an examining magistrate on Wednesday morning.
In a separate incident on Tuesday evening, police were called to a bar in Esch after receiving reports of an individual causing a disturbance. Upon arrival, officers determined that the person had driven to the bar in their own car, despite an existing driving ban. A breathalyser test also confirmed the individual was intoxicated. A temporary driving ban was issued, and the individual was arrested on the orders of the public prosecutor's office before being brought before an examining magistrate on Wednesday morning.
