Three incidents were reported on Thursday afternoon, including a multi-car pile-up on the A6 motorway.

The Grand Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps (CGDIS) reported several accidents across Luxembourg on Thursday afternoon.

A lorry and five cars were involved in a collision between Bertrange and Strassen shortly after 4pm. Two people were injured in the accident, which led to traffic jams on the A6 motorway towards the Belgian border.

As of 5pm, two lanes were shut, as vehicles were restricted to one lane. The traffic jam spanned over 6 kilometres. Emergency teams from the capital were dispatched to the scene.

In Mertert, a scooter was hit by a car on Route de Wasserbillig just after 4pm. Fortunately, this only resulted in damage to the vehicles.

In Tetange, a pedestrian was knocked down by a car at 4.30pm, requiring medical treatment from the Dudelange ambulance, Kayl fire brigade and paramedics from the capital.
