Rail passengers traveling between France and Luxembourg should prepare for significant disruptions this Thursday, 18 September, as a nationwide strike in France is set to impact cross-border train traffic.
According to the latest updates, regional services on the Luxembourg–Thionville–Metz line will be particularly affected, with cancellations and delays expected throughout the day. The SNCF has indicated that TGV services on the same route will not be impacted, nor will trains on the Luxembourg–Bascharage–Sanem–Rodange–Longwy line.
Nevertheless, authorities warn that disruptions cannot be ruled out on other connections between Luxembourg and France.
The strike could also have a knock-on effect on Friday morning, 19 September, with possible delays or cancellations during peak travel hours.
The CFL advises passengers traveling between Luxembourg and France to check the latest traffic information before setting out. Real-time updates are available on www.cfl.lu and via the CFL mobile app.
