A suspicious suitcase discovered on Avenue de la Liberté on Wednesday afternoon prompted a significant police response, triggering widespread street closures and tram suspensions in the area.

The operation concluded as a false alarm at approximately 4.30pm, when police confirmed the object was not dangerous and lifted the security perimeter.

During the incident, several surrounding streets were closed, including Avenue de la Liberté, Rue d'Anvers, Rue Glesener, Rue Jean Origer, and Rue André Duchscher.

All roads and tram services along Avenue de la Liberté have since resumed normal operations.
