After a temporary suspension of train services on the Luxembourg–Thionville–Metz line on Wednesday morning, CFL announced they are slowly resuming.

The interruption is due to a technical fault on a freight train on the French rail network, between Thionville and Hettange-Grande. As a result, passenger trains are currently not running between Luxembourg and Thionville in either direction, explained CFL shortly before 8am.

By 9.13, train services had partially resumed, with a single track currently being available to trains travelling in either direction until the affected freight train is removed.

Delays and cancellations are therefore to be expected. Passengers travelling to or from the Lorraine corridor are advised to use the RGTR bus network as an alternative.
