The trial of two youths accused of murder and intentional assault began on Tuesday, nearly four years after a fatal stabbing in Bonnevoie that claimed the life of an 18-year-old man.
A violent dispute between a group of young people in Bonnevoie in early 2021 led to the death of an 18-year-old man.
On the evening of 26 January 2021, a quarreé broke out among youths in the Luxembourg City district, during which a knife was used. The 18-year-old victim was so severely injured that he died in the ambulance on the way to hospital.
The trial opened on Tuesday for the two young defendants, who were 15 and 17 years old at the time of the incident.
Four years ago, recordings of the killing had been shared publicly on social media, where they quickly went viral. The two youths now stand accused of murder and intentional assault and battery.
The criminal chamber will review the events in detail over four scheduled days of hearings.
