The Grand Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps (CGDIS) reports that, on Monday evening and overnight, firefighters dealt with three separate incidents in Luxembourg, including a car fire in Bascharage, a chimney fire in Eich, and a road accident in Niederfeulen that left one person injured.
In Bascharage, crews from the Käerjeng-Pétange emergency centre responded at 3.20am to several cars on fire.
According to Romain Haas, head of the Käerjeng-Pétange fire service who was at the scene, the blaze most likely started in one vehicle before spreading to others. He noted that three cars were badly damaged by the flames.
RTL confirmed that three vehicles had been completely destroyed, while two others sustained lighter damage. All were parked close together in a public car park in Bascharage. The exact cause of the fire, which broke out around 3am on Tuesday night, remains under investigation.
