Eight firefighters from Echternach at the end of August joined efforts in Portugal to support local crews battling forest fires in Arganil.

Eight firefighters from Echternach assisted local crews in battling forest fires in Arganil, Portugal, between 25 and 29 August, the Grand Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps (CGDIS) announced. The Luxembourg delegation focused on logistical support and fire prevention, ensuring blazes did not reignite, which freed local teams to concentrate on frontline operations.

The mission was made possible through a long-standing partnership between the Echternach firefighters' association and their Portuguese counterparts.
