Figures from the Employment Development Agency (ADEM) show that Luxembourg's unemployment rate dipped slightly in June to 5.9%, following a recent peak of 6% in May. However, these figures remain higher than they were last year.

According to ADEM, 17,886 people were registered as job seekers at the end of June, down by 583 compared to the previous month.

Despite this slight improvement from May, unemployment remains 4.7% higher than in June 2024, with 803 more job seekers looking for work compared to a year ago.

The year-and-year increase in unemployment is particularly pronounced among job seekers aged 45 and older, as well as those with higher qualifications. Professions feeling the most impact include accountants and road transport drivers.

New ADEM registrations are also on the rise: 2402 residents signed up during June 2025, a 10.3% increase compared to the same month last year. Meanwhile, on the recruitment side, employers declared 2,954 job vacancies to the ADEM in June – 120 more than in May.
