Donald Duck's trip to Luxembourg has caused a real-world scramble: the latest Micky Maus Magazin, which includes a story set in the Grand Duchy, is sold out across the country.
The rush to newsstands for the newest edition of Germany's Micky Maus Magazin – which features a story partly set in Luxembourg – was hardly surprising. Yet for those waiting to buy a copy this week, the result has been disappointment: shelves across the Grand Duchy stand empty.
Since its release last Friday, the latest issue has sold out not only at 'K Kiosk' outlets but also in bookstores nationwide. Retailers, including Librairie Diderich, confirm to RTL that they currently have no clarity on when stocks will be replenished.
New deliveries were expected this week, but due to overwhelming demand, a reprint may be necessary – potentially causing further delays. K Kiosk has asked customers for patience, noting that they are still awaiting updates from their supplier.
The magazine's popularity in Luxembourg stems from its latest storyline, which sends Donald Duck and his nephews Huey, Dewey, and Louie on an adventure through the Greater Region, including stops in Saarland, Trier, and Luxembourg itself.
