This Sunday marks the decisive day for the final cycling road race championship titles in Luxembourg, as the winners get their flowers.

On Sunday morning in Mertzig, the junior and women’s Cycling Championships kicked off their final day.

In the women’s category, Marie Schreiber won the 80-kilometer race and secured the elite championship title among professional riders. She out-sprinted Nina Berton and Liv Wenzel to take first place at the finish line.

Schreiber had already won the time trial title on Thursday, and is the current cyclocross champion as well.

Jonah Flammang-Lies had broken away early in the first lap, with Lennox Papi close behind in pursuit. However, in the final lap, Lenn Schmitz caught up to both riders and ultimately secured the victory.

Lena Lallemang stood atop the podium among the junior women, proudly wearing the red-white-blue jersey. She clinched the win in a sprint finish ahead of Elena Lopez, while Kylie Bintz rounded out the podium with a gap of about two minutes.

In the women’s masters category, Carole Kremer took the top spot, securing the title ahead of Claudine Bintz and Mélanie Wunsch, who finished approximately nine and ten minutes behind the winner, respectively.

On Sunday afternoon, the final decisions will be made with the races for Elite men and U23 riders. No championship title will be awarded for the U23 category at this event, as their championship will take place next weekend as part of the Four Nations Championship in Austria.
