A lorry loaded with portable power stations departed Luxembourg City for Ukraine on Tuesday.
Luxembourg City council has donated 400 portable power stations to Ukraine. The official handover took place on Tuesday in Luxembourg City, in the presence of Anne Calteux, representative of the European Commission in Luxembourg, and Claude Radoux, the honorary consul for Ukraine.
400 kits, each consisting of a portable power station and a 2.8kWh battery, were loaded up and dispatched to Kyiv. The generators will help to ensure the operation of critical infrastructure, including hospitals, schools, nurseries and care homes. Ukraine's energy infrastructure has been severely impacted by Russian attacks since the war broke out.
Tuesday’s shipment is Luxembourg City’s second donation of its kind, following an earlier delivery of 19 generators – capable of supplying up to 630 kVA – and 14 buses to help the Ukrainian government provide school transport.
