Significantly fewer properties exchanged owners in the first three months of the year, compared to the same period in 2024, according to a new report.

Luxembourg's housing market slowed significantly from January to March this year, compared to 2024 which saw an uptick over the same time period.

This year, 582 houses were sold, compared to nearly 800 in previous years. 1,135 flats were sold over the first quarter, but before the crisis, this figure averaged around 500 more.

New-builds under construction experienced an increase of 160%; however, it must be noted that the same period in 2024 saw the fewest number of properties sold on plan (VEFA) than ever before.

The Ministry of Housing said that property prices were stabilising, with a 0.9% increase over the last 12 months. Apartment rents have also increased slightly by 1.5% over the year.
