On 8 May, Banque Raiffeisen and the APEMH Foundation inaugurated a new inclusive play area in the heart of Bettembourg's Parc Merveilleux, designed to support child development through interactive, sensory, and balance-based activities for all children, while respecting the natural environment.
The newly unveiled facility is a wooden structure designed to inspire exploration and play for children of all ages. Built entirely from natural materials, it features interactive, sensory, and balance-based games, along with tractor- and animal-shaped accessories. The entire structure is environmentally friendly, visually appealing, and safe, blending aesthetically into the park’s forest setting.
The Association of Parents of Mentally Handicapped Children (the APEMH association) has been active within the Parc Merveilleux for several years. Every day, the association's sheltered workshops take care of the complete maintenance of the leisure park. This essential task for the park and its many visitors also enables APEMH staff to train and develop their skills in various areas of activity, including gardening, animal care, electrical installations, and catering.
Corn-themed Labyrinth
Laurent Zahles, Chairman of the management board, says of the new playground: "With the “Raiffeisen Labyrinth”, we want to offer children a fun, interactive and nature-friendly place to play. By allowing them to have fun while discovering the world around them, we hope to spark their curiosity and raise their awareness of the importance of nature and its preservation from an early age.”
