Luxembourg City is preparing a festive and music-filled weekend to mark National Day and the 25th anniversary of the Grand Duke's reign, with events running from 21 to 23 June across the capital.

The celebrations kick off on Saturday, 21 June, with a series of concerts in the city centre. At Place Guillaume II, soul-jazz singer China Moses opens the programme at 5.45pm, followed by the official welcome of the Grand Duke and Grand Duchess by Mayor Lydie Polfer at 7.30pm, including a ceremonial cake-cutting.

At 9pm, American jazz star Dee Dee Bridgewater will perform with the Orchestre National de Jazz Luxembourg, under the direction of Gast Waltzing. DJ Don Simon takes over at 11pm.

Also on Saturday night, a 15-minute 'Sound & Light' show (Spectacle Son & Lumière) celebrating the Grand Duke's 25-year reign will be projected on the façade of the Grand Ducal Palace from 10.45pm and will run on a loop until 11.45pm.

Simultaneous concerts and DJ sets will take place from 11pm–1am at various locations: Latin band Choco y sus Cómplices at Place d'Armes, Schaman at Place de Clairefontaine, and a mix of DJs animating Rue du St Esprit.

On Sunday, 22 June, the traditional torchlight procession will return, followed by the much-loved fireworks display launched from Pont Adolphe at 11pm.

That same evening, electronic music fans can head to Glacis for the fifth edition of 'City Sounds', which will once again transform the square into an open-air stage, with performances from international acts like Klingande, BJones, and Oliver Heldens, alongside renowned Luxembourgish DJs.

The City Sounds concerts are free of charge and run from 8.30pm–2.30am.

Monday, 23 June, will feature several official ceremonies, including the military parade, a presentation of arms, and a ceremony at the Philharmonie. The Te Deum will take palce at the cathedral at 4.30pm- In the evening, City Sounds continues with a pop-themed lineup featuring both local talent and international artists such as James Bay and Train.

The Monday events will start at 9.00am with the official ceremony at the Philarmonie, and will run until 11.30pm.
