Luxembourg City's new Héienhaff park-and-ride facility opens on 28 April, featuring nearly 500 parking spaces and direct tram access to Kirchberg and Findel Airport.
The long-awaited Héienhaff park-and-ride facility will open its doors on Monday, 28 April 2025, at 4.15am. Located just under one kilometre from Findel Airport, the new P+R offers 481 parking spaces – including 11 reserved for people with reduced mobility – alongside a 32-space bike box.
This development comes several weeks after the completion of Luxembourg's T1 tram line, which began operating its final 3.9km segment on 2 March. The extension connects the national stadium in Cloche d'Or to Findel Airport, featuring two new high-speed stations at "Héienhaff P+R" and "Findel Luxembourg-Airport." The tram can now reach speeds of 70 km/h along the A1 motorway corridor.
Managed jointly by the National Roads Authority and the Luxembourg National Railway Company (CFL), the Héienhaff facility will operate 24/7.
While the initial Héienhaff project envisioned a 4,000-space multi-level park-and-ride facility, the current phase launches with 481 spaces as part of a gradual expansion strategy. The Ministry of Mobility and Public Works confirmed that future extensions will be implemented based on demand, with studies already underway for subsequent development phases.
Construction of the €4 million facility took place between November 2024 and April 2025. The transport hub's development continues with a new bus station currently being built opposite the P+R, across the tram tracks. This addition will feature twelve platforms designed to accommodate additional RGTR lines from eastern Luxembourg and Germany, significantly enhancing regional connectivity.
Practical information
The Héienhaff P+R provides direct access to both the "Héienhaff P+R" tram stop and the "Senningerberg Héienhaff" bus stop.
Users can benefit from free parking when travelling beyond 1.5km from the facility for periods under 24 hours, while those visiting the airport or nearby offices will pay rates higher than Findel's Kiss&Fly car park.
Parking access is managed through the CFL P+R app, with full terms and conditions available at https://www.cfl.lu/en-gb/app/parkandride.
