From a smartphone theft to public intoxication and altercations, Luxembourg police dealt with a series of incidents on Wednesday evening, including disturbances in Luxembourg City and Dudelange.

On Wednesday evening, police in Luxembourg responded to multiple incidents, including a mobile phone theft in Luxembourg City and cases of public intoxication in Dudelange and Luxembourg City.

The first incident occurred shortly before 8pm at Place de la Gare in Luxembourg City, where a pedestrian had their mobile phone snatched by two strangers. Police patrols intervened immediately, and an investigation into the theft has been launched.

Later that evening, authorities were called to address several instances of public intoxication and disruptive behaviour. Just before midnight, a dispute erupted between several individuals at a restaurant on Rue de Strasbourg in the Gare neighbourhood of Luxembourg City. Police arrived to find one person visibly intoxicated and refusing to leave the premises, which had led to a confrontation with restaurant staff. After being examined by a doctor, the individual was taken into police custody for the night.

Earlier, at around 10pm, police were alerted to another disturbance on Rue Antoine Zinnen in Dudelange. Officers found a heavily intoxicated individual who became uncooperative and physically aggressive toward them. The person was arrested, fined for resisting arrest, and held in police custody overnight.
