For over a year, construction companies have been able to resort to the National Credit and Investment Society's (SNCI) anti-crisis financing initiative to alleviate the struggles faced by the construction sector.

Initially launched in September 2023, the scheme will now run until 30 June 2025. The measure had already been extended by six months until the end of 2024, but the ongoing challenges in the industry leave many companies still struggling to face the current economic pressures.

Since the initiative's launch, eight loan applications have been approved, with the SNCI granting a total of €1.25 million in financial support. Despite the aid, the modest uptake reflects limited success.

The figures were disclosed by Minister of the Economy, Lex Delles, in response to a parliamentary question by LSAP MP Paulette Lenert.
