The government has announced a postponement of upcoming measures aimed at regulating waste management.

Initially set to take effect on 1 January 2025, the ban on disposable packaging for deliveries and takeaways has been delayed. The provision will now come into force either on 1 January 2027 or 2028.

Similarly, a requirement mandating reusable materials for food packaging at parties will no longer be implemented in the coming weeks, having been delayed to 1 January 2026.
