Luxembourg's minimum wage will see a 2.6% increase in 2025, though debates continue over whether the adjustment is enough to keep up with the living costs.

On 1 January 2025, Luxembourg will implement a 2.6% increase in the social minimum wage. As a result, the minimum wage for non-skilled full-time employees will rise to approximately €2,638, while skilled workers will see their minimum wage increase to €3,165.

This adjustment aims to reflect the general evolution of prices. According to Charel Weiler, MP of the Christian Social People's Party (CSV) and rapporteur of the bill, around 70,600 employees will benefit from the wage increase.

During the debate in the Chamber of Deputies, several MPs noted that the minimum wage still falls short of covering the cost of living in Luxembourg. Some also raised the question of whether the minimum wage should be adjusted annually, rather than every two years, as is currently the practice.
