A fugitive driver remains at large in Luxembourg after evading a police checkpoint in Belgium and abandoning their vehicle near Mamer.

On Wednesday night, a motorist in Belgium evaded a police checkpoint on the E25.

While Belgian police immediately pursued the driver, they managed to cross the border into Luxembourg, leading Belgian police officers to request assistance from their Luxembourgish counterparts.

Near Mamer, the fugitive stopped their vehicle on a hard shoulder and fled on foot into a nearby forest. As of Thursday afternoon, the driver remains at large.

The forensic police were sent to the scene and the car was seized on the orders of the public prosecutor's office.
