Aside from traffic accidents keeping emergency services busy on Thursday, a fire brigade in northern Luxembourg had to intervene after an Advent wreath caught fire.

In its latest bulletin, the Grand Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps (CGDIS) reported several traffic accidents as well as a rather unusual fire.

At around 6pm on Thursday, several cars collided on the N4 between Cloche d'Or and Leudelange, leaving one person injured.

About an hour later, at 7.11pm, a car and a lorry collided on the A6, near Aire de Capellen. No one was injured in this incident.

In Hosingen, the fire brigade had to intervene at 9.38pm when an Advent wreath caught fire.

Shortly before 10pm, a car crashed on the CR141 between Mompach and Osweiler. One person was injured.

Half an hour later, two cars collided on the A13 between Lallange and Schifflange. This accident left one person injured.

Finally, at 1.51am, another collision involving two cars occurred near Salzhaff in Hollerich, leaving one person injured.
