In a bid to explore more sustainable transportation options, five police stations in Luxembourg will test electric bicycles from April to September 2025.
From April to September 2025, five Luxembourg police stations will conduct a test phase for the use of electric bicycles as official vehicles. Minister for Home Affairs Léon Gloden confirmed this in response to a parliamentary question from MP Meris Šehović of the Green Party (Déi Gréng).
During the trial period, the police stations in Dudelange, Remich, Ville Haute, Kirchberg, and Diekirch will each receive two e-bikes. A budget of €40,000 has been allocated for the project.
If the evaluation of the test phase is successful, the inclusion of e-bikes in the police fleet will be considered for the multiannual budget.
