The 2025 edition of Télévie, launched on RTL City this Friday evening, aims to fund cancer research, with a focus on early-onset leukaemia.
Every year, more than 3,000 adults and children are diagnosed with cancer in Luxembourg, with one in four suffering fatal consequences. Cancer research therefore needs ongoing funding if it is to offer new perspectives to those affected.
As every year, hundreds of volunteers and organisations will try to raise as much money as possible for the fight against cancer, with four local authorities serving as so-called Pledge Centres this year: Dippach, Koerich, Schengen, and Rodange.
However, 2025 will bring a series of new features to the super-charity event. For instance, the supermarket chain Cactus has announced a partnership with Télévie, collecting money from its customers.
Another new feature is the 'Charity Bike' with which the association 'Kiwanis Hesper Red Love' will pedal from Pledge Centre to Pledge Center to boost TV donations. The tour kicks off on 21 April 2025.
All the raised funds will be donated to Fondation Kiwanis Luxembourg at Télévie's annual closing evening, which takes place at the end of April.
