
Motorists travelling on the A13 towards Schengen should expect significant disruptions this weekend as the Luxembourg Roads Authority undertakes a major road renewal project, starting Friday evening and lasting through to Monday morning.
The Luxembourg Roads Authority will be renewing the surface of the A13 motorway towards Schengen from 9pm on Friday, 8 November, to around 5am on Monday, 11 November.
Due to preparatory work required for the changes to the motorway's operation, traffic disruptions are expected to begin in the late afternoon on Friday.
The following roadblocks will be in place during this period:
- A13 motorway towards Schengen between Croix de Bettembourg and the Frisange interchange
- A3 slip road from Metz to the A13 towards Schengen
- A3 slip road from Luxembourg City onto the A13 towards Schengen
- Access from the Hellange interchange towards Schengen
- Exit from the Hellange interchange towards Schengen
- Exit from the Frisange interchange towards Schengen
- Access from the Frisange interchange towards Schengen
Traffic on the A13 will operate in a bidirectional mode, with one lane in each direction, between Croix de Bettembourg and the Frisange interchange, and a reduced speed limit of 70 km/h will be enforced.
Traffic coming from Metz on the A3 towards the A13 will be diverted at Croix de Bettembourg to the A13 towards Esch-sur-Alzette, then via the Burange interchange to the A13 towards Schengen.
Drivers coming from Luxembourg City on the A3 towards the A13 will follow the same diversion route: via Croix de Bettembourg, the A13 towards Esch-sur-Alzette, the Burange interchange, and the A13 towards Schengen.
Traffic from the N13 towards the A13 at the Hellange interchange will be redirected via the A13 towards Esch-sur-Alzette, the Burange interchange, and the A13 towards Schengen.
Vehicles traveling on the A13 from Bettembourg towards Hellange will be diverted at the Hellange interchange via the A13 towards Schengen, the Altwies interchange, and the A13 towards Bettembourg.
Traffic from Bettembourg to Frisange on the A13 will also be diverted at the Frisange interchange via the A13 towards Schengen, the Altwies interchange, and the A13 towards Bettembourg.
Finally, traffic from the N3 heading towards Schengen at the Frisange interchange will be redirected via the A13 towards Bettembourg, the Burange interchange, and the A13 towards Schengen.
