A police officer directing traffic was seriously injured Monday evening after being struck by a car that later collided with another vehicle, leaving both drivers hospitalised.

A police officer regulating traffic at the Bettembourg intersection due to a heavy-duty lorry was severely injured after being hit by a car on Monday evening. The officer was positioned at the side of the road, next to his motorcycle that had blue lights on, at the time of the accident.

The motorist responsible for the collision also crashed into another vehicle after hitting the officer. Both motorists sustained injuries in the collision and were hospitalised as a result.
