The police were initially called to rue Font d'Olière in Rodange to deal with a person who had suffered injuries from a glass bottle.

On arrival, the authorities met several people, including the injured person who had to receive first aid on the scene before being transferred to hospital for further treatment.

According to initial testimonies, a fight broke out between the perpetrator and the victim near a petrol station, however the perpetrator managed to successfully flee the scene before the police arrived.

One of the other people present was reportedly uncooperative with the officers and injured one of them, leading to an official report being drawn up on the grounds of contempt of a public official.

Further tests also revealed that the uncooperative man had been drink driving and had received two driving bans, whereupon the public prosecutor ordered an arrest warrant.
