
The CGDIS mobilised several ambulances and firefighting teams during the night from Saturday to Sunday, responding to two fires and two accidents.
At around 2.20am on Sunday, a serious accident occurred on the N1 near Findel when a car crashed into a tree resulting in one fatality and injuring one person. Two ambulances, medical emergency aid services, and firefighters from Luxembourg City and Sandweiler responded to the scene.
Another accident happened at 2.46am on the N31 between Bettembourg and Livange, where a small truck overturned. Fortunately, the damage was solely material.
Earlier on Saturday evening, firefighters had already responded to two incidents involving fires. At 6.50pm, a car caught fire on Rue de la Gare in Leudelange, followed by a garbage can igniting around 8.20pm on Rue de l’Église in Fischbach, near Mersch. In both instances, no one was injured.
